Sprint promises to release 3G Femtocell in US
Sprint’s bringing out the big words by boasting to Unstrung it’ll be beating everyone to the market with its 3G femtocell solution. Femtocell is a small personal base station that you could use at home to improve indoor coverage. It looks similar to a WiFi router and you need a broadband connection to use it. All your calls and data will then be routed to your mobile operator servers via the Internet while you are under a Femtocell coverage. In simple words, you get cheaper calls for setting up your own base station.
